Updated Information on Renting and Viewings

Following updated government advice from the Housing Secretary Robert Jenrick, letting agencies can reopen their offices, viewings are permitted and the letting process can be restarted in England from 13 May 2020.

At Hamlet, we are NOT returning to ‘business as normal’ at this stage.  There will be strict social distancing in place for all staff, contractors and members of the public.

We will NOT be opening our Wincanton office at this stage, and until further notice.  The Gillingham office will remain closed permanently and all operations moved to Wincanton.  This is to protect our staff and the public and, whilst some staff will now base themselves from the office rather than working from home, we will not open the office to the public.

Please continue to contact staff by telephone on 01963 34006 or email wincanton@hamletlettings.co.uk – if you do not receive an immediate answer, please leave a message.  Staff have been furloughed for many weeks so will have much to catch up on.

With staff back working, we will begin to process tenancies for EMPTY properties only at this stage and will move onto occupied properties once they are either a) vacated, or b) when all the empty ones are completed.

Viewings will be resumed and we will be observing strict social distancing rules and a strict appointment system on all viewings to ensure that the risk of spread of coronavirus is reduced as far as possible.  Hand washing and a ‘no contact’ policy for surfaces will also be in place.

If you have any queries, please do contact us on the details above.
